Job Description
Salary Range: $80,000 to $110,000/yr. base salary
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. Chemical Engineering minimum; 3+ years of experience out of continuous chemicals, batch chemicals, specialty chemicals, or even mixing/grinding operations (cement, etc). This person could be in a production engineering role, could be a process optimization type, etc. Pluses include: experience grinding, milling, pelletizing, drying, calcining or powders handling equipment. SAP experience and/or six-sigma certification is a huge plus as well.
Job Description:
This person will be based at a 400-person chemical plant that uses both batch and continuous processing technology to make catalyst and catalyst additives for refining and petrochemical applications. This process uses the unit operations listed above. This person will be responsible for day-to-day support of the production units (using best practices), process optimization, and improvement projects (using six-sigma tools), upgrading of SOPs, performing root-cause analysis on product failures, and participating in safety items (HOS, 5S, HAZOPS, etc). This facility is one of 20+ U.S. chemical manufacturing facilities that this company operates. The parent company is a billion dollar International chemical and materials manufacturer and there will be plentiful advancement opportunities for this person, into either technical or production management.
